The Johns Hopkins Pathology Flashcard App is a mobile application for iOS devices, including iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. A central feature of the app is the Deck Manager, which provides a facility for editing, studying, and sharing decks of flashcards. The Deck Manager lists all the cards in the currently selected deck. New cards can be added to the list or the content of an existing card can be edited (in the Card Editor) by tapping on the card entry in the list. Cards can be deleted from the deck as well. The Share icon in the Deck Manager allows the deck to be shared. The decks are shared as binary files containing all the flashcard contents, including the images. These deck files can be shared via email, URLs, or Apple’s AirDrop. Tapping “Study This Deck” in the Deck Manager will open the Study view of the deck. The flashcards are presented on a carousel interface that can be navigated by swiping. A “Shuffle Deck” function is provided to randomize the order for the cards for the study session, and cards can also be removed from rotation.

Although the primary intent of this app is for medical education in the field of pathology, it is suitable for use in other areas of medical and non-medical education. The app includes a sample deck of pancreatic disease flashcards to get you started!
