First, you reflect upon how you’re feeling, then decide whether or not you want to increase that feeling, or reduce that feeling.

Then, you create a thread: a short set of time-sensitive tasks that you think will affect that state.

If you complete those tasks, you’ll reflect upon whether or not they worked.

Did they change you in the way you wanted to be changed?

If so, then you can save that thread for reuse.

Over time, you build up a library of self-control strategies that are validated to work for you.
