The SPEEDUP Cricket app offers three modes of operation :
Manual mode :
- Semi-automatic speed estimation : the user takes part in the speed estimation process by providing the speed estimation algorithm with the locations of the ball along its trajectory
- The smartphone can be handheld
- Demo version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Lite version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Premium version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Pro version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Session timeout : 10 seconds
- works great on all iOS devices
- Fallback solution in case automatic and on-the-fly modes fail to estimate the speed due to high visual pollution in the camera's field of view
Automatic mode :
- Automatic speed estimation : the smartphone does not require any input from the user
- Demo version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Lite version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Premium version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Pro version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Session timeout : 10 seconds
- should work great on all devices (processing time may vary from one device to another)
On-the-fly mode :
- On-the-fly automatic speed estimation
- Demo version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Lite version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Premium version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 75km/h
- Pro version : multiple bowlers; max speed = 170km/h
- Session timeout : no timeout
- This mode requires quite high processing power, therefore it may not be supported by all the devices on the market
