The original system used from 1950 to 1962 is cross referenced to the county and what that county code is in the 2nd system.

The 2nd system used from 1963 to 2007 is cross referenced to the county and what that county code is in the original system.

Within each county there might be several BMV Branches and the specific branch was identified with the 1963 and newer plates by the letter after the county code. Those branch designations are in the app also.

There is an interactive Indiana Map so you can see where counties are located within the State.
