#### **App Name:**
Virtual Catalase Lab – Enzyme Test Interactive Experiment
#### **Application Purpose:**
This application is designed as an interactive learning media that allows pupils, students or researchers to simulate catalase enzyme activity tests virtually. The ultimate goal is to provide a safe, cost-effective, and accessible biochemistry laboratory experience without the need for actual physical equipment or chemicals.
#### **Background:**
The catalase enzyme is an important enzyme found in almost all aerobic living creatures and functions to break down hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) into water (H₂O) and oxygen (O₂). Catalase activity is often used as an indicator in biochemical and cell physiological studies. However, limited laboratory facilities are a challenge for many educational institutions.
#### **Main Features:**
1. **Interactive Experiment Simulation:**
* Users can select the concentration of hydrogen peroxide.
* Determine the volume and source of the enzyme (e.g. liver extract, potato, etc.).
* Set temperature, pH, and reaction time.
* Observe the results in the form of O₂ bubble production visually and quantitatively.
2. **User Friendly Interface:**
* Graphic display that resembles a real laboratory.
* Step by step instructions for each procedure.
* Data panel that displays experimental results in graphical form.
3. **Learning Features:**
* Explanation of the theory behind the catalase reaction.
* Evaluation module in the form of quizzes and data analysis questions.
4. **Exploration of Experimental Variables:**
* Users can change temperature, pH and substrate concentration variables.
* Simulation provides realistic results based on actual scientific data.
#### **Application Benefits:**
* Provides an alternative to studying biochemistry practicals without biological or chemical risks.
* Help students understand the concept of enzymes and the factors that influence their activity visually.
* Can be used as a tool to help teachers/lecturers in online or hybrid learning.
* Improve data analysis and scientific problem solving skills.
#### **Target User:**
* High school students (grades 11-12) majoring in science
* Students majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, Science Education
* Teachers, lecturers and lecturers in the fields of biology and chemistry
#### **Supporting Technology:**
* Built with Adobe Animate
* Local database of experimental results
* Compatible with mobile and tablet devices
