Geography Sketch:
spatial distribution and dynamics of the French population

This sketch is proposed as part of a learning-based progression of the college until Tray.
Wherever possible, the exercises are chosen to be reused throughout the schooling of the 3rd high school or Post Bac.
This sketch meets the requirements of the directives of the Inspector General as for theme 1 - Territorial dynamics of contemporary France - in the geography program for grades 3, it says: "Sub-theme 1: areas maps urban national and regional scales are needed to show particular the importance of cities in organizing the territory [...] these cards are complemented by the distribution of the population [...] the perspective is the opportunity to build a sketch of the spatial distribution of population and its dynamics in the territory. ".
Therefore, we can offer a simple sketch (for 3rd, reusable high school or Post Bac) entitled "Spatial distribution and dynamics of the French population."
Based on free software "Carto_Flash_Prof_SDLV FRANCE" downloadable from the website: http://www.geographie-muniga.org - we can locate the first 10 urban areas. Then, we can bring out the spatial distribution of population through thematic maps produced with this software.
With the same software, we can highlight urban sprawl and the attractiveness of certain French regions. Finally, producing thematic maps with the same software Carto_Flash_Prof_SDLV France, we can identify the key internal migration flows to meet our subject.
