The Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, which began production in 1982, became famous for its simple and reliable design: frame, spring rear suspension, rigid link Front axle, and downshift. Initially, the Mitsubishi Pajero was offered a three-door body with a metal or canvas top, but in 1984 a five-door modification appeared in the cabin with three rows of seats.

Mitsubishi Pajero was equipped with two-liter (including turbocharged) and four-cylinder gasoline engines with a volume of 2.6 liters and a three-liter V6 engine. The importance of turbodiesels was 2.3 and 2.5 liters. There was also a version with a 2.3-liter naturally aspirated diesel.

Mitsubishi Pajero was sold in North and South America (except Brazil), Spain, and India, and a copy of the SUV of this model from 1987-1989 was sold in the USA. And after the production of the first Mitsubishi Pajero was discontinued in 1991, the production license was sold to the Korean company Hyundai, which created its SUV.

The Mitsubishi Pajero second generation was, in fact, a deep modernization of the previous model. However, the Mitsubishi Pajero began to look more modern, its size slightly increased, and the rear suspension springs appeared. The transmission has also changed: now, they have loaded the Mitsubishi Pajero transfer case Super Select 4WD with four drive modes, low gear, and lockable rear and symmetrical center differentials. ABS is included in the equipment list.

Starting in the autumn of 1997, the 3.5 V6 GDI engine was installed on the Mitsubishi Pajero. The trunk is carpeted and small, even with the seat folded down. This disadvantage is absent in the five-door versions with dimensions of 4565x1695x1850 mm.

Although the new generation 2022 model Mitsubishi Pajeros is launched in the Asian market, we rarely see this model in Europe and America.
