Double Assassination dans la Rue Morgue (The Murders in the Rue Morgue) is a short story by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, published in April 1841 in Graham's Magazine, translated into French by Isabelle Meunier then, in 1856, by Charles Baudelaire for the collection Extraordinary Stories.

Summary: The short story features detective Dupin and one of his friends, who plays the role of narrator. The story takes place in Paris in the 19th century. However, most of the places mentioned in the short story, including the Rue Morgue, do not exist.
