ASA - Social Action Archdiocesan of Salvador is a civil entity dedicated to the human promotion of the population in a situation of social vulnerability. Since the 1980s, the various social ministries of the Archdiocese began to structure themselves to meet the demand of the population, placing themselves at the service of the covered area of ​​the Archdiocese of São Salvador, which contemplates, in addition to the capital, the island, the metropolitan region and others. municipalities of the Bahian Recôncavo.

In January 2001, ASA was formally created, giving a legal structure to the various pastoral actions and enabling better performance and articulation.
