PrepColon is an application designed to guide users in their preparation for colonoscopy. Use of the app is subject to voluntary participation in the PrepColon APP study.
The application requests and uses the following data to carry out personalized monitoring of the user's preparation: weight and height, medications taken, previous surgeries performed in the abdominal area, previous colonoscopies, number of weekly bowel movements, Parkinson's disease or diabetes. In short, information from which the application will determine the specific needs of each user to help them optimally during the process of preparing for their colonoscopy.
Participation in the study implies knowledge and consent about the use that will be given to the above data.
Patients who voluntarily decide to participate in the study will receive a unique code with which they can access the application's functionalities. This code will allow the research team to relate the data collected from each patient to the result of their colonoscopy.
The aforementioned data is completely anonymous. The information is identified by the unique code of each patient, and only the research team will know which patient each code corresponds to. The application will send the data indicated above to the research team for subsequent analysis, with the aim of determining to what extent the use of an application like this is recommended in patients who must undergo a colonoscopy, and in no case will they be shared with third parties.
IMPORTANT: The application offers personalized indications and recommendations based on the data entered by the user, but in no case does it replace a professional doctor or any other healthcare personnel.
