Res Publica is a Latin phrase and means "thing of the people," "public thing," "public matter."
The purpose of the application is precisely to arouse the interest of the population of Sete Lagoas (MG) in the "public thing", in the transparency of the public expenses, in the planning of the municipal goals and directives, that is, in the Social Control.
It is the result of a joint action by the Google Developers Group (GDG) of Sete Lagoas (MG), the local Social Observatory, the Santa Helena Valley (SHV) - Sete Lagoas Innovation and Startup Ecosystem (MG), undergraduate students in Law by UNIFEMM - University Center of Sete Lagoas (MG) and the entire voluntary community.
The GDG is present in several cities of Brazil and the world. It brings together local developers who use Google company technologies, share knowledge, information and create interesting projects using the "open source" concept.
Open source means open source. The concept "open source" came about with the purpose of creating software with open source code, that is, free of license costs. In most cases, they are shared tools online by developers, not restricting the participation or use of any person.
The Res Publica application was created precisely in this concept "open source", allowing the sharing of construction tools and most important, the participation of all interested in the creation process and future updates.
Social Networking is every electronic platform with the main objective of connecting people and enabling the sharing of information between them.
The proposal of APP Res Publica is precisely this, to be a Social Network that will make the connection between all citizens present in the electronic platform and these with the local Social Observatory.
Through the application, the community can post photos or short videos, denouncing, suggesting, questioning or exposing some fact related to Public Transparency, Social Control, Participative Budgeting and goal planning for the Municipality of Sete Lagoas (MG).
