A trap is a pattern in behavior that arises in childhood and lasts for life. Traps appear because of what relatives or other children have done to us. Someone has abandoned us, criticized us, overprotected us, mistreated us, rejected or ignored us - that is, somehow harmed us. Sometimes the trap becomes part of ourselves. Even after we leave our childhood home, we continue to reproduce situations in which we are mistreated, ignored, reprimanded or pushed around; because of this, we fail to achieve the most desired goals. Traps govern our thoughts, feelings, actions, and relationships with the people around us. Because of them, we experience anger, sadness, and anxiety. Even when it seems that we have everything: high social status, perfect marriage, respect for loved ones, success - we often fail to enjoy life or believe in our achievements.
