Mason's jam, Ruhrpott sushi, little man's tartare, Hackepeter, hack, hocked, Thuringian mett are all terms for mett and refer to the twisted, minced or chopped seasoned pork that is eaten raw as a spread.

The meat lover decides whether the Mett is then formed into a Mettigel, whether it is only used as a hearty snack and feast with work colleagues during the break (Mett breakfast) or whether it is presented at large celebrations.

In addition to the various offerings at the butcher, such as Jägermett, which is particularly seasoned with caraway, among other things, which not everyone likes, I personally recommend Ham Mett, which is made from the top shell and is of particularly high quality.
