The Corrupião bird belongs to the Incteridae family, its scientific name is the Icterus jamacaii, being a bird much admired in the scientific community for the beauty of its feathers.

In turn, its scientific name ikterus comes from the Greek meaning yellow. Jamacaí is Tupi and represents a bird that eats caterpillars. That is, in science the name of this species carries the meaning of a yellow bird that eats caterpillars.
