The application shows all the meteorological data measured by the instruments of the Vicovaro-Mandela weather station + graphs and reports; there is also a webcam, weather forecasts, a rain radar, and a live map of the network of Lazio weather stations.

The reference weather station is a PCE-FWS20 and is located in Mandela - about 3 kilometers from Vicovaro - at 430 meters above sea level, at the headquarters of the Civil Protection Volunteers Mandela - Cantalupo. The installation was made possible thanks to the precious contribution of the National Association of Firefighters on Leave - Volunteering and Civil Protection - Delegation of Vicovaro. The monitored area - elevated with respect to the plain immediately below it to the south-west, which in fact constitutes the gateway to the Aniene valley - has marked ventilation especially during currents from the south-west or north-north-west . In these circumstances, gusts of more than 100 km/h can be recorded. Furthermore, with the occurrence of thermal inversion phenomena (clear skies, low relative humidity rates, absence of ventilation and high pressure periods, especially in winter), it is very probable to observe temperature differences between the aforementioned plain - colder during the at night - and the installation area - which tends to record lower maximum temperatures by virtue of the greater and constant ventilation. The installation was completed with the placement of a Foscam FI9900P webcam, a very versatile, compact, weather-resistant video surveillance camera with very satisfactory visual results. A peculiar feature of this webcam is the ease with which it transmits wirelles, taking advantage of a coverage and range of up to about 40 meters. In night mode, the infrared (30 LEDs) are activated and are automatically activated thanks to a twilight sensor located inside the lens of the webcam itself. The broad wide-angle view (104°) is also a very important parameter that places the Foscam webcam almost at the top of its category. Vicovaro's webcam sends an image every 3 minutes. The pointing of the same is in a South-West direction towards the village of the same name.
