The Via Crucis, also called the Way of the Cross, representing the Stations of the Cross during the Passion of Christ.
The traditional Stations of the Cross consists of 14 stations, although there are some variations with 15 stations, collecting the resurrection as a station.
In short the seasons represent the following scenes:
I Station: Jesus is condemned to death.
Station II: Jesus and the Cross.
Station III: Jesus falls the first time.
Fourth Station: Jesus meets his Mother.
V Station: The Cyrenian helps Jesus carry the cross.
Sixth Station: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
Seventh Station: Jesus falls the second time.
Eighth Station: Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem.
Station IX: Jesus falls the third time.
Station X: Jesus is stripped of his garments.
Eleventh Station: Jesus nailed to the cross.
Twelfth Station: Jesus dies on the Cross.
Station XIII: Jesus is taken down from the Cross and given to his Mother.
Fourteenth Station: Jesus is laid in the tomb.
