This application aims to teach how to round a magnitude along with its error. The user can check if their rounding is correct by entering the original unrounded and rounded values. The application is intended for use in teaching laboratory experiences where students perform measurements and finally have to express their results correctly rounded with errors. Therefore, the application can help them verify their results. Below we describe its use.
On the initial screen you can see the video that explains how to round a magnitude along with its error. The "Your rounding" button accesses the screen that allows the user to check if their rounding is correct. The values ​​of the measured magnitude and its error are entered into the boxes in the first row without rounding, that is, as they were obtained when carrying out the experiments. Both values ​​must be in the same units and using the point as a decimal symbol. In the following boxes in the second row, the rounded values ​​of the magnitude and its error are written as considered by the user. To check that they are correct, press the "CHECK" button. The screen shows whether each of them is correct. The application shows a brief summary of the criteria followed to round off the error and magnitude ("Help" button).
