The air layer calculator is a helpful tool for the technically experienced planner, such as building physicists,
Architect or civil engineer.

The air layer calculator is used for quick and easy calculation of the equivalent thermal conductivity
of air layers in component structures by entering the air layer (cavity) and the
Direction of heat flow.

For the calculation of the equivalent thermal conductivity, the formulas for the calculation of the
Thermal resistance of air spaces according to EN ISO 6946: 2005 Annex B.
The calculation rules are designed for two-dimensional calculations.

Application:
For the U-value calculation of multilayer component structures with closed air / cavities
For example: not completely hollowed out cavity between the rafters or facing shells with behind it
