The ÖBf emergency app was developed specifically for ÖBf employees, tailored to their requirements and intended for their use.
The app's area of ​​application is Austria and the application is available to download free of charge.

The ÖBf emergency app makes it possible to make an emergency call to a rescue organization in emergency situations. The current location is displayed - if there is a GPS signal and map material. If necessary, this can be changed by clicking on “Change accident location”, e.g. if the current location differs from the accident location or a suitable location for a helicopter landing needs to be specified.

Since there is often no internet reception in the area, an excerpt from the basemap (map of Austria) can be downloaded in the settings. You can also integrate your own maps in the “-.mbtiles” format.

The most important functions at a glance:

- Call the emergency
- Change the location of the accident by selecting a different location on the map
- Offline maps downloadable
- Switch to loudspeaker mode during the emergency call
- Presetting the Euro emergency call as an emergency number

The following requirements must be met for functionality and are beyond the provider's control:

- GPS activation and GPS reception for location determination
- Cell phone reception for making an emergency call
- Emergency number must be set as the telephone number
- Internet reception is required to display the online map.
- Technical requirements must be met.
