The sound protection computer is a helpful tool for the technically experienced planner, such as building physicist, architect or civil engineer.

The soundproofing computer is equipped with the functions sound insulation façade / windows, RW solid components and resonance frequency, further useful functions will follow with the next updates.

With the function Sound insulation façade / window, the required weighted sound reduction index of the window Rw, F according to ÖNORM B 8115-4, formula (6) can be calculated based on the ratio of the window / door opening area to the outer surface of the outer building surface (outer wall and outer ceiling) Sound insulation measure of the outer wall and outer ceiling done.

The function RW solid components is used for quick and easy calculation of the weighted sound reduction index Rw of solid single-shell walls and ceilings according to ÖNORM B 8115-4, formula (1) by entering layer thickness in [mm] and basis weight m'in [kg / m2].

By means of the resonance frequency function, the resonance frequency of double-shell walls can be quickly calculated according to ÖNORM B 8115-4, Table 4 by entering shell thickness in [mm] and mass per unit area m'in [kg / m2] and shell distance or stiffness s'.
