Last week, I was chatting with a friend and we were discussing about SIGHT WORDS and how BIG a challenge it is to make our Kindergarteners learn them. Before long, a few other Moms joined in on the conversation, and I knew right away I wanted to create something that is EASY and FUN to help parents and help kids learn their SIGHT WORDS quickly.

First let's define what sight words are. Sight words are a collection of words that a child should learn to recognize without sounding out the letters. The sight words are both common, frequently used words and foundational words that a child can use to build a vocabulary. Combining sight words with phonics instruction increases a child’s speed and fluency in reading.

Working hard to learn these words by sight (memorizing) pays off. It allows kids to free up cognitive resources so they can focus on the tougher words that require strong decoding skills. Just as parents help their child study for a weekly spelling test, they can also help their child read and review their weekly sight words.

The “Wonderful Words!" app is build solely for this purpose. The app is designed to help teachers, parents, and caregivers teach a child how to read faster and practice the SIGHT words.Parents can create their OWN WORD GROUPS and add as many Sight words that keeps getting introduced at school. This was parents can make their kids practice and review their sight words at home to compliment what the teacher is doing at school.

The app gamifies the learning and helps the child learn the SIGHT WORDS in a FUN way. You want your child to have an opportunity to enjoy and have FUN with sight words so that his or her brain can make a connection between the letters and the word itself.
