This tool is in line with the physical didactic setup in the slim AC-Fast DC project, which can be obtained via www.diagnosecar.be.
The application visualizes how the SMART GRID interacts with the charging infrastructure and also how bidirectional charging, which is still under development, affects the SMART GRID. We visualize how the battery of the e-vehicle is the buffer that supplies energy to the grid, to your devices at home or to your charging infrastructure at appropriate times.
The application ensures that invisible problems/errors/e-flows are visualized on the physical setup. For example, changing circumstances including more/less demand from the electricity grid, the car or more/less generated energy (e.g. sun via solar panels) will become more comprehensible to students. Moreover, principles of bidirectional loading become visible, allowing students to interpret data more easily.
