In May 1998, the idea arose between father and son to create a local radio station in order to provide services to the community of Praia do Farol de São Thomé, in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes - RJ.

father and son put all their energy, without measuring efforts, to realize an old dream: the creation of a community radio.

 

After some time of research and hard work, they managed to complete and open, on August 14, 1998, the former Radio São Thomé 94.5 FM, our current Radio Transa Norte FM 87.9.

 

Two years passed to officially legalize the radio, with ANATEL (National Telecommunications Agency), appearing in the Federal Official Gazette and on TV Senado.

From this moment, the São Thomé Community Association was created: Rádio São Thomé (Transa Norte 87.9 FM), faithfully following the established statutes and laws.
