The Educa + Saúde Game is a production that mixes innovation in the health area with an interface through digital games. Among the objectives of the project "Games and health - Development of a multimodal digital game for training in the prevention and care of childhood and youth cancer", is to develop an educational game for web and smartphones, aimed at health professionals and teachers of elementary school and civil society, focused on raising awareness about early cancer diagnosis. In this game, the theme of childhood cancer is addressed, focusing on prevention and care to assist health professionals and teachers, in the recognition of possible symptoms of childhood cancer.
With the game's narrative told in a visual story format (or “Visual Novel”), the game goes through two distinct journeys, each related to the two most common types of childhood cancer in Brazil: Leukemia and Central Nervous System, respectively. On the first day, the player follows the day-to-day life of a school and of health professionals such as Community Health Agents and doctors of Basic Health Units, presenting in the daily lives of these professionals the most common signs that can light an alert about the possibility of this disease in children in daily life. The second day is focused exclusively on health professionals, while demonstrating the daily life of a family that has a child affected with the Central Nervous System.
This digital game proposes that the player becomes aware of the signs related to childhood cancer, through situations in which he must choose what would be the way forward to deal with the facts, in order to understand how this disease manifests itself in the coexistence.
