Natural Sciences and Its Technologies, designed in accordance with the
National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) by the V-Lab do
Computer Center (CIn) of the Federal University of Pernambuco
(UFPE), in cooperation with the Secretariat of Basic Education (SEB) of the
Ministry of Education (MEC). It aims to support the process of
learning and development of skills and abilities
referring to the object of knowledge Organic functions: hydrocarbons
and oxygenated functions (BNCC Skill: EM13CNT104).
Quizmico is a game of the Quiz genre, in which we have questions and
answers and, to advance through the phases and complete the game, the player must
try to answer as many questions correctly as possible. In this case, all
questions are of the identification and association type, as RED demands that
the person is able to identify the functional groups of the different
compounds, and to associate them with their organic function. We assume the
character of an alchemist (the same as RED Alquímica) who needs
rearrange the glassware in his laboratory, which accidentally exploded and
It's completely messed up. The objective of the game is to return the
chemical reagents, identified through labels that present the
structural formula of the compound, to the correct shelves, each
corresponding to a certain organic function.
RED addresses organic functions: hydrocarbon, acid
carboxylic, ester, ether, enol, phenol, alcohol, ketone and aldehyde, whose formulas
molecular elements appear in different forms of representation. When switching
representations, the game demands from the student the ability to
distinguish between similar functional groups (see alcohol, enol and phenol, or
aldehyde and ketone, for example), focusing on what type and how many
chemical bonds are formed and analyzing the hybridization of atoms
carbon.
