This application was developed by the Institute of Rural Development of Paraná – IAPAR-EMATER (IDR-Paraná), with the aim of guiding and managing procedures regarding the release of the parasitoid wasp Tamarixia radiata, for the biological control of the citrus psyllid ( Diaphorina citri), the main pest of citrus crops.
In addition to a brief diagnostic description and images for recognizing the citrus psyllid, the parasitoid wasp and myrtle plants (Murraya paniculata), the application provides step-by-step instructions on how to release the parasitoid wasp. The QR code reader integrated with a georeferenced location system allows the generation of maps with the wasp release history, allowing strategic management in the biological control of the citrus psyllid.
