The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, published Decree No. 12,336, of December 20, 2024, which establishes the National Fishing Vessel Regularization Program, with the purpose of regularizing and updating the information on fishing vessels registered in the General Register of Fishing Activity and registered in the Computerized System of the General Register of Fishing Activity.

The program will be coordinated by the National Secretariat for Registration, Monitoring and Research of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and has as its principle the environmental, social, economic and cultural development of the fishing production chain, the sustainable management of fishing resources and the expansion of access to public policies and credit.
