ReportIn allows people to report to the CBSA without reporting in person to a CBSA office.
The Canada Border Services Agency(CBSA), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) or the Immigration and Refugee Board(IRB) may impose a condition that requires someone to report regularly to the CBSA while they are in Canada. The ReportIn app allows these people to fulfil this requirement by confirming their identity using a photo and by sending the photo and their current location to the CBSA.
To be eligible to use ReportIn, the conditions imposed by the CBSA, IRCC or the IRB must not restrict the method of reporting.
The information collected by ReportIn is securely transmitted to the CBSA and stored by the CBSA. Personal information is used and shared in accordance with Section 7 and 8(2) of the Privacy Act. Details regarding the collection and use of the personal information collected by ReportIn can be found in the CBSA privacy policy.
