Until now, you could only find out about nature conservation-related restrictions on site at the nature conservation boards. But who actually looks at the boards? There is a great need to easily access information on “what can I do, where and when” on my cell phone. Despite restrictions, certain activities are (temporarily) permitted in nature and wildlife reserves.

The canton of Bern has currently developed the smartphone application “NatureGo”. It is used for visitor information and guidance in nature reserves. A push message informs the user that they have entered the nature reserve. The most important rules to be followed to protect the species and habitats that live there appear on the screen and a short description of the nature reserve and its special features worth protecting can also be accessed via a link.
