Free application that allows to capture through an Android device, the information of a forest through plots of a forest inventory. This form is very simple and intuitive, for anyone familiar with data collection for forest inventories.

It has a series of validations that ensure the correct capture of data in the field and minimize errors. These can be configured by the user according to the type of forest to be evaluated.

Once the capture is finished, the data is exported to an Excel spreadsheet, which is sent by email to the predefined user in the application configuration parameters.

This application was developed to facilitate the collection of forest inventory data to users who occupy the CALIPER WEB Forest Inventory Processing System (www.caliper.cl), ensuring an expedited exchange between this application and said system.

Without prior damage, the program can be used without limitation, by any person who needs to take data from forest inventories, even if they are not a client of CALIPER WEB.

ABOUT WEB CALIPER

Caliper is an easy-to-use Chilean software to process plots of forest inventory sampling currently used in Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.

Most programs of this type belong to medium and large companies, or forest consulting companies and are not available in the market. Caliper was made to be used at low cost by independent foresters, small forestry companies and large ones as well.

It works with a combination of local processes and a Web server for the cutting process, delivering the results with different levels of resolution in an Excel spreadsheet.

The volume is obtained by tapering models that cut each of the trees in the inventory according to a user-defined cutting scheme, who privately manages their coefficients and schemes.
