The carbon footprint calculator has two functions: one of them is to calculate the corporate carbon footprint or the inventory of greenhouse gases of a company, considering direct emissions controlled by the organization and indirect emissions due to consumption of electrical energy from the network. It includes the quantification of emissions by the different emission sources, such as: combustion in fixed sources, combustion in mobile sources, fugitive emissions and emissions from wastewater treatment, yielding results of total and specific emissions.
Another function of the calculator is to quantify the personal carbon footprint or emissions generated by a person's daily activities, such as: electricity consumption, transportation habits, eating habits, trips.
The calculations use Colombian fuel emission factors and global emission factors determined by IPCC.
