The book of the most eminent of the signatories about the Lord of the Worlds, the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim dealt with what comes to mind and what does not occur. He began it by classifying the scholars and clarifying their influences in light of their types. He put dots on the letters, and did justice to those who issued fatwas to the nation based on what was authentic from the Qur’an and the Sunnah, exerting every effort to establish the truth and invalidate the falsehood as much as possible. Then he listed the Companions who issued fatwas, and mentioned what they issued fatwas in adherence to texts or specific understanding and diligence. He did not skimp on mentioning many of the fatwas given by stolen people and Westernizers. One of the muftis, he focused on the heroes of many tricks formulated and directed by a mufti who neglected piety in order to pass the fatwa. He also did not neglect to explain the Sunnahs and obligations. He corrected what needed to be corrected, relying on an authentic text, or the method of a great Companion. He considered his approach based on his good understanding of the teachings of the school of prophecy to be the basis for the text, because of the sublimity of faith that the Companion possessed, and a great reserve of piety with clarity of reason and good understanding based on sound language that did not resemble any flaw, and because of the importance of this message and the position that its compiler enjoys on my authority, by publishing it in this edition, verified and accurate, like all the other books of Imam Ibn al-Qayyim.
