Better in Movement is a new and different training and exercise concept aimed at the elderly. The overall idea of the project is to motivate nursing home residents to increased activity, movement and exercise with a view to improved rehabilitation, well-being and joy of life, as well as to promote community between the elderly citizens.
Better in Movement is aimed at older citizens and consists of a series of exercises where the participants move all the major muscle groups.
The individual exercises are accompanied by specially composed music which supports the movements. Specifically, it is a CD and an accompanying instruction manual for use by the staff or volunteers at the nursing home.
The concept thus appeals to the imagination and evokes memories that give participants a desire for exercise and movement activities. The memories and the "twinkle in the eye" are the most important, as we have learned that some of the elderly think it is a sad duty to keep the body in good condition.
