1. OBJECTIVE
This practical activity deals with cutting hair in a gradient style. Let's quickly go through the concept of beauty and learn about the characteristics of this cut. As part of the activities, you will be invited to perform the cutting, but first, you will need to follow the correct order of the process, in addition to complying with the safety requirements for carrying out the experiment.
At the end of this experiment, you should be able to:
Understand the importance of dividing the wires;
recognize and plan the gradient cut style;
identify haircut lines and angles;
apply and create using the gradient technique.
2. WHERE TO USE THESE CONCEPTS?
The gradient cut is one of the most popular styles in beauty spaces. Its difficulty level is low; however, if the correct technique is not performed from the beginning, the effect will not be successful, and the professional will have to redo the cut. Therefore, the experiment presented here will allow you to master the gradient cutting technique.
3. THE EXPERIMENT
In this experiment, you will perform a gradient style haircut, using tools and objects from a formal hair and beauty environment. They are: straight scissors and razor for cutting, water sprayer, hairdryer and artificial head. In this test, you will perform the gradient cut with razor scissors. You will need to wear appropriate attire, especially an apron and closed shoes. You will identify the cutting sequence and practice the four hair divisions, as well as the 90 and 45 degree angles, fundamental to this experiment.
4. SECURITY
In this practice, you will need to wear closed shoes and leggings or jeans. Elastic bands and clips, scissors, an apron (or lab coat), a white towel and a cutting comb will be used. Scissors require special care, especially in the ear area. The apron will protect your body and, if it has pockets, it can make it easier to handle small objects. The white towel will be used to dry the hair, while the comb, elastics and clips will facilitate the demarcation of strands throughout the procedure.
5. SCENARIO
The environment of this practice presents the scenario of a beauty salon, where the items will be distributed on the counter (artificial head, products and finishers, spray bottle, towel and dryer) and on the auxiliary cart (scissors, combs and clips). You will need to organize your work tools in order to use them as recommended here. This will ensure the correct execution of the gradient cut; just follow the instructions in the itinerary.
