Clubhouse is a social networking application based on audio-chat. Subscribers can overhear interesting conversations, meetings, and discussions among individuals on a variety of topics - this is like listening to a podcast, but in real-time and with an added layer of exclusivity.
The Clubhouse is a place for casual, drop-in audio conversation with friends and other interesting people around the world.
At the Clubhouse you can only be invited. You can't just download it from the app store and sign up for an account. Similar to real life organizations or private yacht clubs, you must be invited to register by existing participants. Real-world elitism, but this time practiced virtually.
When you sign up, you choose a topic of interest, such as technology, publications, services or fitness. The more details you offer regarding your level of interest, the more space for discussion, and for individuals the app will suggest you join.
A conversation room is similar to a conference phone, but in this case, a few people are on the phone and talking, while most of the others are just listening. Also, like a phone call, as soon as the discussion is over, the area closes. Unlike Twitch, where live video streams remain on the system for individuals to come back and watch, online audio chats that take place in discussion rooms disappear.
