Project carried out by the Basilicata Territorial Promotion Agency (APT Basilicata) in collaboration with the Directorate General for the Environment, Territory and Energy of the Basilicata Region.
X-PARKS, Lucanian parks in augmented reality, is a digital art interpretation of the parks of the Basilicata Region, two national and three regional, which tell about themselves in an emotional and engaging way.
Simply pointing the smartphone or tablet at the floor (or at the dedicated postcard) materializes a dreamlike work that blends the symbolic elements of the areas belonging to the region's natural parks through Augmented Reality technology (Augmented Reality).
X-PARKS is part of the experimentation of new forms of use for the promotion of tourism and combines 3d animation, gamification and interaction with the public: the user, once the target is framed, is transported into a gaming dimension through scenes of animated life, enriched by authorial sound design, ambient music and romantic texts by Rosario Angelo Avigliano.
At the end of the immersive experience, the scene becomes navigable and the user can acquire information about the individual elements by consulting the information sheets made up of texts and images.
X-PARKS aims to create suggestions and interest by inviting the user to visit the wonderful natural parks of Basilicata in person.
