Beseech the gods! Inspired by Fritz Graf's article "Rolling the Dice for an Answer" (2005), this app attempts to simulate Astragolomancy, or the art of divinitation through the use of astragaloi (knucklebones), an ancient form of oracular fortune telling practiced in ancient Greece.

Each of the dice (or in this case, knucklebones) is worth 1, 3, 4, or 6 points. Five dice are rolled at a time and the resulting combination of values corresponds to one of 56 possible oracular sayings. Simply tap or drag across the screen to roll the bones and await your response from the oracle! Pick from one of two available themes, and be sure to ask the god your question before rolling.

Ad Engagement

In an effort to simulate the act of giving an offering before an oracular consultation, the user may customize the level of ad engagement. An ad can be shown after every 1, 2, 3... up to 10 rolls, or advertising can be disabled entirely.
