Undoubtedly, the intention is a balance for the legitimacy of an action. Intention is a definite will, even if it is not accompanied by charity. Imam Ibnul Qayyim said, "Intention is the spirit of charity, its essence and joints. The deed follows the intention. Deeds become right because of the right intentions. And deeds become corrupted because of corrupt intentions." (I'lamul Muwaqqi'in VI/106, tahqiq Shaykh Masyhur Hasan Salman).

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam has conveyed two sentences that are very deep in meaning, that is, actually deeds depend on intentions and someone gets what is intended.
