The preparation of the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education textbook refers to Learning Achievements (CP). The explanation of each material integrates four things, namely (1) Islam as rahmatan lil 'alamin, (2) national/Indonesian insight, Pancasila Student Profile, development of literacy culture, and 21st century learning.
The material in this book was developed to assist in achieving learning objectives. The development of this book material took into account the following matters:
1. Students' intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social and vocational potential;
2. Level of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development of students;
3. Usefulness and relevance for students;
4. Scientific structure;
5. Actuality, depth and breadth of material in every aspect (Al-Qur'an, creed, morals, fiqh, and history of Islamic civilization); And
6. Time allocation.
