Textbooks are very important in supporting successful learning throughout Indonesia considering the reality that most schools still use books as the main learning source. Freedom to learn requires teachers and students to use various learning resources. However, the reality on the ground is not easy. Unequal access to information and the limited number of qualified teachers are limiting factors.

This Class VII Confucian Religion and Character Education textbook is here to provide a textbook with the minimum standards required by the curriculum with the primary target being level 4 teachers. This textbook refers to the latest curriculum with an emphasis on the Pancasila student profile, learning outcomes (CP ) and principles of learning and assessment. The Pancasila student profile is important as national identity in responding to future challenges.

The author hopes that the Confucian Religious Education and Character Class VII textbook can provide inspiration and help create a young generation of Indonesians who have noble character, global diversity, independence, ability to work together, reason critically and be creative.
