One of the goals of teaching fine arts in schools is to empower fine arts to develop students' creativity. This is based on the awareness that creativity has an important role in forming students' personalities. Because of this, creativity needs to be built from an early age, explored and developed in the roots of the nation, in order to increase Indonesia's human resources who are aware of its culture.

This book aims to position fine arts as education through art which emphasizes the instinct of practicing fine arts in students as something universal, and makes fine arts something that grows naturally in them, and is used to develop creative thinking attitudes in forming the character of the Pancasila Student Profile.

One of the efforts towards achieving this ideal is that the Government has launched this Grade 8 Fine Arts Teacher's Guidebook, which is prepared based on the Learning Outcomes formulated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. Even though the term "guide" is used, this book is actually just an inspiration (if you can call it that) which still needs to be developed and modified to suit field conditions.

In this way, this book becomes contextual according to field conditions. In its implementation, this book is very conditionally flexible, what is in it is referential. So, even if the teacher does not come from a fine arts education background, it is hoped that they can use this book as a reference. In carrying out their role as facilitators, teachers are given wide space to improvise, both in the order of material, approach, taking learning resources, managing time, choosing medium, depth of competence, and so on. The approach taken should provide lots of opportunities for students to play, explore, express their imagination.

Provide students with balanced technical and aesthetic experiences. Create as much space as possible for students to be directly involved in the process.


Hopefully this application can be useful and become a loyal friend in the teaching and learning process at all times.
