This Buddhism and Character Education subject book was prepared as a follow-up to the simplified 2013 Curriculum adjustments. Some of the rules that have been adapted are Learning Outcomes for Buddhist Education and Character Education Subjects which consist of three elements, namely History, Ritual and Ethics.

In line with the basic values ​​of Pancasila, the state is to become Pancasila students with noble character and global diversity, through efforts to promote and preserve culture, strengthen religious moderation, by exploring four holistic developments as a Buddhist education entity, including physical development (kaya-bhavana), moral development. and social (sīla-bhavana), mental development (citta -bhavana), and development of knowledge and wisdom (panna -bhavana).
