The Bible is originally made up of 66 books accepted as being inspired by God. These 66 books correspond to the 39 books of the Old Testament, and the 27 books of the New Testament.
The Old Testament books are the sacred books of the Jews written in Hebrew. Only a few small passages were written in Aramaic. New Testament books were those written in Greek in the Christian era, after the ministry of Christ.
The Old Testament tells the story of the period before Christ. The New Testament, on the other hand, records events from the birth of Jesus.
