Imam Syafi'i was the first person to bring up brilliant ideas and ideas to write rules regarding Islamic law which were systematically poured into a paper entitled al-Umm.

Al-Umm's book is Imam Syafi'i's fiqh book which contains rules for determining Islamic laws, to make it easier for a servant to know the signs that have been set by the divine. The development of this science began during the time of Harun al-Rashid (145 H -193 H), and peaked during the time of Al Ma'mun (170 H 218 H).
