Digest of the Book: Shaum Nabi Saw Fii Ramadhaan

Translated and summarized by: dr. Raehanul Bahraen, M.Sc., Sp.PK.

We extract some of these benefits and notes by taking istimbath / conclusions from the book of Shifat Shaum Prophet shallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam fii Ramadhaan by two authors, namely Shaykh Ali Hasan Abdul Hamid Al-Halabi and Shaykh Salim bin Ied Al-Hilali Hafidzahumallahu.

We also add notes and faidah from several other book sources as a complement. Some of the writing we speak ourselves to make it easier to understand. Here we arrange according to the chapter and a summary of each point.

1. The reason for choosing the month of Ramadan as the month for fasting is because the Al-Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan. The following verses explain this:

“(The specified days are) the month of Ramadan, the month in which the (beginning) of the Qur'an was sent down as a guide for mankind and explanations regarding that guidance and a distinction (between the right and the wrong). Therefore, whoever among you is present (in the country where he lives) in that month, then let him fast in that month "[Al Baqarah: 185].

2. The obligatory order of Ramadan fasting in stages

If there is an order for worship that feels heavy for the Muslims, Allah, the Most Merciful, gives the order gradually and slowly. Like the order to leave drinking khamr, the command to fast is also gradual in two stages.
