According to the story, a geobiological structure found in the Permian Basin region of West Texas in the early 1970s was given the name the Mystery Flesh Pit. The pit is characterised by a massive underground organism that is deeply buried in the ground and whose size is unknown.

Following its discovery, the Anodyne Corporation strengthened and gradually developed the internal section of the flesh pit in addition to enlarging its external orifice. The pit was made public after construction was complete and turned into a tourist destination.

A few years after it opened, the tourist attraction was absorbed into the National Park System and gained its status as a national park. The Flesh Pit, now called the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, operated until its sudden closure in 2007.

The Mystery Flesh Pit National Park has established itself as a solid archive for various horror IPs, which is perfect for fans of the science horror genre or the SCP Foundation. It is not surprising, then, that plans for a video game adaptation were conceived.
On a related matter, Robert confirmed that the tabletop adaptation of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park is in the works. It is being developed using the Cypher System by Monte Cook Games and a Kickstarter campaign is expected to begin in the middle of next year.
Mystery Flesh Pit National Park is a science-horror archive created by Trevor Roberts, who set out to come up with a register similar to that of the SCP Foundation. For the past few years, Roberts has fleshed out the contents of this project, which has become quite remarkable.

Roberts revealed last week that a video game about the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park would be created and funded via a Kickstarter campaign. The game’s story would centre on a team hired by The Permian Basin Recovery Corporation to raise awareness on the park's reopening following a disaster in the past that forced its closure.
Depths is an FPS concept set in the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park by Trevor Roberts. This would have you play as an experienced Pit Engineer exploring major parts of the Permian Basin Super Organism.
This project is not currently in development, I'm on the lookout for any collaboration opportunities to make the most out of the source material into something playable.
Now let’s get this straight off the bat: the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park is not the secret holiday destination you’ve been looking for. Offering “legendary trout fishing” and “geotectonic carnal moans,” this unusual park is the work of one imaginative Redditor.
Posting to the worldbuilding subreddit in 2019, Trevor Roberts shared a Mystery Flesh Pit National Park tourism poster that quickly took the internet by storm. Many believed the poster to describe a real location, resulting in plenty of disturbing lore over the years.
Now ‘Markiplier’ is joining in on the fun, exploring the depths of the pit in a new fan-made horror game.
The goal of the game is to find a way out “through the harsh environment and dangerous wildlife of the pit.” Taking on the challenge, Markiplier set off on a path of escape through dark tunnels and green gas.
“You might be thinking, ‘Oh mystery flesh pit, what does that mean?’ it means exactly what you think it means. It’s a pit… of flesh… that’s a mystery,” Markiplier explained.
