Pillars of Islam: An Islamic term used to refer to the five foundations upon which the religion of Islam is built. It is indicated by the hadith: “Islam is built on five” and it was mentioned in the Prophetic hadiths in various forms, namely:
The two testimonies (testifying that there is no god but God, and testifying that Muhammad is the Messenger of God)
Establishing the prayer (which is five prayers a day and a night)
Giving Zakat Fasting Ramadan
Pilgrimage to the House (for those who are able to do so, i.e. for those who are able)
