A research team from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is committed to improving the eating habits of sarcopenic obesity elderly people over 65 years old, thereby promoting their health. To achieve this goal, the research team developed the "Eat Well Diary" application, which is specially designed for the elderly who are familiar with smartphone operation to facilitate them to record their daily diet.
The app was developed to help the elderly accurately record their dietary intake, including the intake time and portion size of various foods, thereby providing data support that can help with dietary management. Through detailed records, seniors can self-monitor their eating patterns and make adjustments when necessary to achieve a more balanced nutritional intake.
The core purpose of "Eat Well Diary" is to enhance the autonomy of the elderly through technological tools so that they can gain greater control over their diet and health management. The research team hopes that this can reduce various health problems that may occur due to sarcopenic obesity, thereby improving the overall quality of life of the elderly.
