This Android application is an explanation of heretical behavior and its influence in Al-Jarh Wa At-Ta'dil by Dr. Ahmad Isnaeni. In Pdf format.
This article was originally the author's thesis when completing his studies at the Postgraduate School of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta at the end of October 2003.
It discusses the views of hadith scholars towards heretical transmitters. The term heresy experts in the study of hadith is quite interesting, where in terms of their beliefs and religious understanding, they are considered to have misunderstood the understanding of most Muslims. The word bid'ah is often associated with something bad, wrong, odd from the lines guided by Islamic law.
In the study of hadith science, this term is attached to those whose views are not the same as those of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah. In subsequent developments, this term was aimed at Kalamiyah groups such as Mu'tazilah, Shi'a, Qadariyah, Jabariyah, and others.
The interesting thing in terms of the specifics of hadith science, shifts slightly when aligned with the sharia approach. Those accused of holding such views have been labeled as unrighteous, wrong, heretical and infidels. In fact, the hadith transmitters of this group of heretical experts are often found in mu'tabarah hadith books, both in the al-hadith as-sittahi pole and in the al-hadith at-tis'ah pole.
Their existence has the same place as other hadith transmitters. The standards for evaluating ulama towards heretical transmitters are based on the principles of hadith science. The existence of hadith transmitters who are experts in heresy will continue to be recognized as long as they fulfill the criteria and conditions as hadith transmitters.
There are two assessments of expert transmitters of heresy, namely acceptance and rejection of their hadith narration. If they are considered infidels because of their heretical views and actions, of course their history will be rejected. Meanwhile, for those who are not considered infidels, but are indicated as propagandists, their history is also rejected, if the history defends their views. Apart from that, the existence of hadiths from heretical expert narrators is still accepted if they meet the standards of hadith narration.
This article is intended for students majoring in Hadith Tafsir, observers of hadith science, and the general public who wish to know more about hadith criticism, especially related to scholarly studies of heretical expert narrators. Of course, in this article there are shortcomings, errors and linguistic expressions that are inappropriate or incorrect, for this reason the author hopes for constructive criticism for future improvements.
