This book reviews the prey system which is the traditional knowledge of Javanese society with a scientific review. The author's concern for the preservation of traditional knowledge conveyed in this book needs to be supported by the republishing of this book. This book was previously published in 2018 by the publisher Calina Media. In 2023, this book will be republished by BRIN Publishers with several changes, both in editorial and substance aspects, as well as by implementing open access.

We hope that the presence of this book can increase public knowledge about prey institutions which contain the local wisdom of Javanese society and can also be a reference for applying knowledge of prey institutions in science learning in educational environments to support the preservation of traditional knowledge.
